Our new stock is growing! New stock will be available 1st September 2025.About this product
Prunus avium Early Rivers, or Sweet Cherry, was raised by the Rivers Nursery in Hertfordshire in the 1860s.
Prunus Early Rivers is a good tree to combine in the garden with Prunus avium Kordia for an extended harvesting period of cherry fruit throughout the summer. Sweet, succulent fruits are borne in June / July, and a good display of spring white flowers adds to the interest in the garden.
Like all trees that produce edible fruits, this tree is VAT-exempt, making it good value for money!
Prunus domestica Early Rivers thrives on most free-draining soils but grows best away from grass completion to enhance fruit size and taste.
Its green leaves turn to yellow in the autumn before leaf fall. It forms a rounded crown and is an ideal tree for a medium-sized garden.
Mature height: 3-7m
