Picea pungens Blue Diamond

This stunning little variety of Colorado Spruce originated in Deurne, the Netherlands, in 1990 and is a cross between a female Picea pungens Glauca and unknown variety of male Picea pungens.

Growing only approximately 10cm a year and rarely exceeding a height of 3m, it's perfect for any size garden to add a splash of colour.

The vivid silvery/blue spikey needles intensify in colour as the tree matures, forming a dense pyramidal habit. Pale brown cones can be seen in autumn.

It grows well in most soil types but will not tolerate wet roots for an extended period, although will cope well with dry conditions.
