Our new stock is growing! New stock will be available 1st September 2025.About this product
Ilex aquifolium Pyramidalis is an attractive, fast-growing variety of Common Holly that won the RHS Award of Merit and Award of Garden Merit in 1989 and 2002, respectively.
This Holly has bright green, waxy-looking foliage with a largely smooth edge.
This cultivar is self-pollinating and, therefore, capable of producing a superb crop of bright red berries even without the presence of a pollinator. The berries appear in autumn and will remain on the tree into the winter until eaten by wildlife.
As its name suggests, Ilex aquifolium Pyramidalis grows with a compact, pyramidal-shaped crown as long as the central leader is retained.
Like all Hollies, this tree will tolerate some shape and prefers the soil to be free-draining.
This super, small evergreen tree is a great specimen tree for small—to medium-sized gardens.
This Holly has an upright, triangle-shaped crown with a spreading base, which gives it an interesting architectural shape. This makes this tree a super feature tree, providing year-round interest.
Mature height: 3-7m
