Crataegus monogyna Alba Plena, known as the Double Flowering Hawthorn, is very similar in all respects to Crataegus monogyna apart from its double white flowers.
It makes a lovely garden tree and being of native origin it is a superb tree to support wildlife.
First found back in the 1770s, Crataegus monogyna Alba Plena is often classified as Crataegus laevigata Alba Plena but looking at the tree don’t worry too much it you aren’t able to spot the difference because I can’t!
It thrives on most soils, including clay.
