About this product

With a leaf akin to Stella or Worplesdon, the shape of this tree is Liquidambar’s equivalent of Cupressus sempervirens!

Liquidambar styraciflua Slender Silhouette is extremely columnar and develops a height-to-width ratio of 5 to 1.

This American introduction also has a good autumn colour, with leaves turning yellow, orange, and red before the leaves fall.

Thriving on most free-draining soils, this narrow form is ideal for small gardens or restricted streets.

Autumn colour is more reliable on acid soils, and unlike its parent, many clones of Liquidambar styraciflua have smooth bark when young.

Mature height: 7-12m
