Kaiser Linden
Tilia x europaea PallidaAbout this product
Tilia x europaea Pallida, or the Kaiser Linden, is a highly rated Lime from the famous Unter den Linden in Berlin.
This tree has lush leaves that are light green, with a slight yellow hue to the underside. In autumn, they turn golden yellow and orange.
The pale green leaves are extremely attractive to aphids, and the resulting aphid drip can be messy. As such, it is best to avoid planting near paved areas or anything the aphid drip will damage.
Tilia x europaea Pallida is a variety of the seed-grown Common Lime, Tilia x europaea, a hybrid of Tilia cordata and Tilia platyphyllos.
This large tree quickly grows and forms a regular, pyramidal shape at maturity.
It is a useful tree that thrives anywhere and tolerates all soil types, including clay.
This tree is ideal for avenue planting, creating impressive and stately specimens as it matures.
It is well suited to traditional parkland planting schemes and, like most Limes, is a suitable candidate for routine pollarding.
Mature height: 20m+
