About this product

Tamarix aestivalis, known as Tamarisk or Salt Cedar, is a great coastal flowering tree tolerant of very sandy soils.

At Barcham, we grow over 500 different tree varieties and there are fewer than 10 that thrive as the first line of defence on the coast and Tamarix is one of these! Its feathery green foliage emerges in spring just before a profuse display of pretty pink flowers.

Tamarix aestivalis flowers about a month later than Tamarix gallica & tetandra but otherwise is the same.

Summer leaves go yellow to bronze in the autumn before leaf fall and if you are not on the coast, fear not, this pretty garden tree does just as well in land.

Mature height: 3-7m
