Product details

Malus Rudolph was developed in the 1950’s and is one of Barchams favourite 3 Malus, we have one red, one white and one upright crab we favour; this is the red one!

This super tree has a glorious display of rose-pink flowers which appear in late spring. The foliage emerges after the flowers and is initially a copper-red in colour, over the summer period Malus Rudolph turns to a bronze green, the only remnants of the red being the bright venation of the leaves.

In the autumn time the elongated red fruits emerge as the foliage turns a clear yellow.

Our pleached Malus Rudolph have clear stems of 1.8m making them perfect for screening above fence level, on frames of 1m high x 1.2m wide.

Unlike some Malus, this tree is extremely resistant to pests and disease, one of the reasons that we rate Malus Rudolph so highly.

This pretty little crab apple is a perfect choice to introduce colour and year round interest for a small garden and makes an attractive small avenue tree.

Malus Rudolph is sometimes nicely paired up with Malus evereste, as their features nicely complement one another.

If you live in an area prone to rabbits or deer then we recommend rabbit guards for these trees.
