Product details
Sorbus x arnoldiana Schouten is a tough and reliable clone of Mountain Ash. This tree has large leaves composed of small leaflets which give the tree an overall light and feathery type appearance. In the spring white flowers appear in clusters, followed by the small bunches of bright golden yellow berries in August and lush deep purple, orange and red autumn colours. The yellowy orange fruits are not attractive to wildlife and as such remain on the tree into the winter time. Sorbus x arnoldiana Schouten is a very tough tree and unlike many other Rowan varieties, it can tolerate the harshest of urban conditions including reflected heat and light. If forms a tidy and compact, oval crown at maturity and will thrive in most soil conditions. Often overlooked by the many other “garden” Sorbus varieties on the market, this small tree has all the attractive qualities of its ornamental rivals, yet is durable and strong, making it a favourable selection over the more disease prone alternatives. Being a small tree, it is a super choice where space is limited and will provide a combination of benefits throughout the seasons. If you live in an area prone to rabbits or deer then we recommend rabbit guards for these trees. Mature height: 7-12m
