Willow Leaved Pear
Pyrus salicifolia PendulaAbout this product
Note: Medium specimens will be around 2.5 m tall.
Pyrus salicifolia Pendula, known as Willow Leaved Pear (Weeping Pear), makes a fine small weeping tree for a garden.
Its spring white flower display is overshadowed by its silver-green foliage in the summer that cascades down from the mushroom-shaped canopy.
Over several years the crown can get quite woody and dense so we recommend a 70% crown reduction in the winter every five years or so to reinitialise juvenile growth for the following spring.
Quick growing, Pyrus salicifolia Pendula prefers well-drained soil but also thrives on heavier ground including clay.
Willow-shaped leaves of Pyrus salicifolia Pendula turn yellow in autumn.
If you live in an area prone to rabbits or deer then we recommend rabbit guards for these trees.
Mature Height: 3-5m
