About this product

Prunus x hillieri Spire, or Hillieri Spire Japanese Cherry, is an upright cherry formed from a cross between Prunus sargentii and Prunus Yedoensis.

This delightful tree features pink flowers and small dark green leaves, with bright orange and red hues in autumn for a stunning seasonal display.

Prunus x hillier Spire is a small tree with a compact, upright shape, ideal for tight spaces.

This tree was raised in the late 1920s and has won many accolades, including the prestigious Award of Garden Merit in 2002.

This tree is a reasonably tough contender, tolerating most soil conditions, although, like most cherries, it does prefer well-drained soil. It has been extensively used as a street tree, encapsulating the tough nature of this pretty little tree.

Prunus x hillier Spire is an excellent addition to any garden where space is at a premium. It offers delicate, pretty pink flowers and stunning bright autumn colours, all wrapped into a tiny package!
