About this product

Introduced from its native Japan in 1890, Prunus sargentii (also known as Sargent Cherry) is widely regarded as one of the loveliest of flowering cherries – with the added advantage that its blossom is usually ignored by bullfinches.

Prunus sargentii has won numerous accolades, culminating in the Award of Garden Merit in 2002.

A superb small tree of rounded habit and a great choice for gardens, parks, and streets.

It bears abundant single pink flowers in March and April and is one of the first to take on its autumn tints of orange and crimson, which complement its chestnut-brown bark so effectively.

Mature height: 5-10m
