About this product

Malus Toringo is a pretty and unusual Japanese Crab Apple that was introduced in 1856.

This pretty Japanese Crab Apple has mildly lobed leaves that are bright green. The flowers are pink in bud, opening up to a faded pink to white.

In the autumn time, like many Crab Apples, the leaves turn a clear, lemony yellow to contrast nicely with the small red or yellow fruits that develop throughout the summer.

Malus Toringo is a small tree at maturity, reaching only 3-5m tall, and has a gently weeping crown shape.

Like other Crab Apples, this lovely specimen will thrive in most soil types and will perform well in clay soils.

Sometimes also known as Malus Sieboldii, this tree is perfect to bring year-round interest in small gardens where space is limited and is a useful addition to arboretums or collections as it is a relatively rare variety that is not often seen.

If you live in an area prone to rabbits or deer then we recommend rabbit guards for these trees.

Mature Height: 3-5m
