Magnolia GalaxyAbout this product
This Magnolia Galaxy was bred in the US National Arboretum in 1963 and is a cross between Magnolia liliiflora and Magnolia sprengeri 'Diva'.
It is Spectrum's seedling sister. Such a glamorous tree, we once supplied them in full flower to a private house in London, and a day later, the neighbouring property ordered some as well.
Galaxy is a medium-sized tree of conical habit formed by ascending branches that broaden at maturity.
A good choice for gardens or parkland, it produces stunning, purple-pink to red tulip-shaped, lightly scented flowers.
Flowers emerge before the foliage. It does best on moist but free-draining, fertile soils and in sheltered or partially shaded positions.
Mature Height: 7-12m
