Weeping Beech
Fagus sylvatica PendulaAbout this product
Fagus sylvatica Pendula, known as Weeping Beech, makes a majestic specimen tree ideal for parkland and very large gardens.
Its huge limbs cascade down at maturity producing a huge dome shape with great architectural beauty. Introduced in the 1830s, it was a great favourite of the Victorian era, and its plantings can be enjoyed by us today.
Fagus sylvatica Pendula thrives on most free-draining soils away but not in view of the coast.
The classic green leaf canopy turns an orange yellow in the autumn before leaf fall.
Why do some trees hold onto their dead leaves?
