Weeping Beech
Fagus sylvatica PendulaAbout this product
Fagus sylvatica Pendula, known as Weeping Beech, makes a majestic specimen tree ideal for parkland and very large gardens.
Its huge limbs cascade down at maturity, producing a huge dome shape with great architectural beauty. Introduced in the 1830s, it was a great favourite of the Victorian era, and its plantings can be enjoyed by us today.
Fagus sylvatica Pendula thrives on most free-draining soils away from but not in the view of the coast.
The classic green leaf canopy turns an orange-yellow in the autumn before leaf fall.
Why do some trees hold onto their dead leaves?
