Silver Birch Westwood
Betula pendula WestwoodOut of stock
Our new stock is growing! New stock will be available 1st September 2025.About this product
Betula pendula Westwood, a lovely clone of the UK native Silver Birch, originated from near Beverley, Yorkshire.
Particularly vigorous when young, this pyramidal tree has a great form. Its regular habit lends itself to being crown-lifted over time to show off its showy silvery bark. Like all Birches, this is best done from October through to December.
Its green leaves turn to a buttercup yellow in the Autumn.
This new introduction thrives on most free-draining soils and is surface-rooted. It has enough guts to thrive in the urban environment!
Mature height: 12-17m
