About this product

Alnus spaethii, known as Spaeth Alder, looks more like a cherry than an alder when it’s in leaf. A superb display of long yellow catkins in early spring gives way to large glossy leaves in summer that turn shades of yellow in the autumn.

It thrives best on wet soils but thrives even on dry soils once established. This vigorous tree is best planted in parkland or large gardens away from buildings.

The spring catkins of Alnus spaethii provide excellent forage for bees.

Mature height: 12-17m
