Acer platanoides Crimson Sentry

For those of you liking the foliage colour Acer platanoides Crimson King or Acer platanoides Royal Red but haven’t got gardens large enough to accommodate them look no further! Acer platanoides Crimson Sentry is a much smaller tree with stiffly ascending branches that grow at about a 45 degree angle from its main trunk.

Leaves emerge red in spring and harden to a red / purple by mid-summer before turning luminescent crimson in the autumn.

Thriving on most free draining soils, Acer platanoides Crimson Sentry is a great tree for a small garden if vivid colour contrast is required.

We grow this as a low crowned tree as this accentuates its oval shape and shows off its highly prized foliage to the full.
