Lobel Elm
Ulmus LobelAbout this product
Ulmus Lobel, known as Lobel Elm, was raised at Wageningen in Holland and released for commercial sale in 1973.
Bred for its resistance against Dutch Elm Disease, it is broadly columnar with fresh green leaves that turn yellow in autumn before leaf fall.
Ulmus Lobel will grow on most soils and even on land adjacent to the coast.
Its uniform habit makes it a popular choice for avenues and streets, but even though resistance to disease is good in this clonal selection, we would urge caution and not base this genus around any volume in case it succumbs to Dutch Elm Disease later on.
Mature Height: 20m+
