Dodoens Elm
Ulmus DodoensAbout this product
Ulmus Dodoens, known as the Dodoens Elm, is a tough, broad-headed Elm bred in the Netherlands in the 1950s for its Dutch Elm Disease resistance and released for commercial sale in the 1970s.
It has withstood the test of time and remains resistant, but this genus remains problematic, so don’t base your planting plan on Ulmus!
This Elm is a vigorous tree with rough leaves that turn from a deep green to a clear yellow in the autumn before leaf fall.
Ulmus Dodoens thrives on most free-draining soils, whether light or heavy and can even grow on land near the coast.
