Mongolian Lime, Linden
Tilia mongolicaAbout this product
Native to the mountains of northern China, this Lime is used to growing at elevations higher than anywhere we have in the UK! The first tree was grown here in 1907 at Kew.
A compact and rounded tree, it is smaller than most of the same family maturing to around 10m.
Branches bear small and notably toothed, glossy green leaves. Weather permitting these turn a bright yellow in autumn.
Creamy yellow flowers are produced in clusters in early summer.
Prefers a moist but well drained soil and is good for alkaline.
