Scarlet Willow

Salix alba Chermisina is the brilliantly scarlet-red-stemmed variety of white willow; it is also referred to as Salix alba Britzensis.

This willow is notable for having brilliant scarlet red-orange young stems that are most attractive in winter.

This tree received the Award of Garden Merit in 2002 and is a tough contender that will tolerate most moist soil conditions.

Like most willows, this tree will tolerate extremely wet conditions, including planting in areas that experience regular flooding.
