Our new stock is growing! New stock will be available 1st September 2025.About this product
Greengages, scientifically known as Prunus domestica Reine-Claude d’oullins, have always been more popular in France than the UK, with us preferring Victoria plums and Damsons. However, don’t overlook this clone for very sweet, juicy yellow fruits in late summer—they are hard to beat as a garden tree!
The white spring flower adds to its ornamental interest, and its green leaves turn yellow before they fall in the autumn.
Prunus domestica Reine-Claude d’oullins thrives best on free-draining soils, and both fruit flavour and size are enhanced by keeping weed and lawn competition away from the base of the tree.
Fertilizing with a general-purpose plant food in the spring is also beneficial.
It makes a fine tree for a garden, and as the fruits are edible, this clone does not incur VAT.
