About this product

This great clone was discovered within a seedbed of Prunus cerasifera seedlings in the early 1980s in America and selected for its upright growing habit and burgundy wine foliage colour.

Stiffly ascending branches make this the purple-leaved plum version of Prunus amanogawa, so this new introduction is ideal for a small garden where space is at a premium.

Pink-tinged white flowers emerge in spring along with young bronze foliage, and the combination of the two is very attractive.

Prunus cerasifera Crimson Point (Сrimson pointe flowering plum) is a great small tree for providing contrast within a garden, and it thrives on most free-draining soils.

Its leaves are slightly two-toned, above and beneath, so it is quite effective in a breeze.

Mature height: 3-7m
