Our new stock is growing! New stock will be available 1st September 2025.About this product
This tough Poplar is a native of North America and gets its name from the sweet-smelling fragrance emanating from its sticky buds.
Suitable for wet and exposed sites, the Balsam Poplar tree is very useful for land that periodically floods in winter.
Its lush green summer leaves produce a good canopy and they can turn a glorious yellow in the autumn.
The tree's bark presents an intriguing sight with its diagonal, cross-hatched ridges, adding to its visual appeal.
Populus balsamifera are not long-lived trees; the oldest recorded are about 200 years old.
