Pinus pineaOut of stock
Our new stock is growing! New stock will be available 1st September 2025.About this product
Pinus pinea, the Italian Stone Pine, is sometimes called the Umbrella Pine.
Its large cones produce seeds that can be roasted to become the main ingredient for pesto sauce.
A round-headed pine thrives in most free-draining soils and adapts well to coastal regions, although it is unsuitable for the first line of defence.
In spring, new needle candles are produced, which causes older needles to turn yellow and fall further within the canopy.
Pinus pinea can grow quite large, so it is best planted in parkland or extensive gardens to provide year-round evergreen interest.
Mature Height:12-17m
Please note: These are half standards with approximately an 80 cm clear stem.
