Product details
This very well-known conifer was first introduced into the UK way back in the 1500s.
It is still the Christmas Tree of choice for many of us in December but it now has competition from Abies Nordmanniana as this keeps hold of its foliage whereas Picea abies can make the vacuum cleaner work overtime by Twelfth Night.
Picia abies grows to be a large pyramidal tree so can soon outgrow a small or medium sized garden.
It thrives on most free draining soils and can even suffer some coastal conditions although it is never good as the first line of defence.
One established, it can put on a little over 60cm of extension growth every year.
Mature height: 17-22m
