Burkwood Osmanthus

This versatile evergreen shrub grows up to 3m tall. Clusters of tiny, white, scented flowers adorn the tree in spring, followed in autumn by a small number of black berries. Glossy dark leaves and dense growth mean the Osmanthus can be used for low-level year-round screening either a single plant, or as a hedge. It can also be topiarised for a more formal appearance. This variety responds well to being pruned which encourages new growth and helps it keep looking its best. Suitable for all soil types if they are well drained, and useful in exposed sites.
