Black Mulberry
Morus nigra multi stemOut of stock
Our new stock is growing! New stock will be available 1st September 2025.About this product
The Black Mulberry, also known as Morus nigra, always seems to look old before its time and, in multi-stemmed form, can produce a very pleasing architectural habit.
Its rough leaves and bark distinguish it from Morus alba types that may have black fruit but also have smooth leaves and bark.
It thrives on most free-draining soils but can take up some width within a garden, so be sure to give it enough space to thrive.
Morus nigra multi stem’s rough dark green leaves turn to a clear yellow in the autumn before dropping in November.
Black juicy mulberries are produced in late summer and can be eaten, hence the reason why this tree is exempt from VAT, making it a good value buy!
Mature height 3-7m
Note: We also offer a single-stem version of Morus nigra, ideal for those seeking a more traditional appearance.
