Golden Dawn Redwood
Metasequoia glyptostroboides GoldrushAbout this product
I can’t think of any other deciduous yellow-foliaged conifers, so if you are after something different, this is the tree for you!
Metasequoia glyptostroboides Goldrush, or Dawn Redwood, grows best in moist soil during its establishment phase but can thrive on most soils afterwards.
Its spectacular golden foliage has a feathery effect, making it a great contrasting tree in a parkland or large garden environment.
In late October/November, the yellow leaves drop for autumn, leaving the soft, spongy redwood bark to be admired all winter.
Metasequoia glyptostroboides Goldrush has a lovely symmetrical pyramidal habit that makes it stand out in the landscape.
I saw this tree maturing in an arboretum in Rutland, and it was so stunning that I immediately knew we had to include it within our range.
Mature height: 12-17m
