About this product

Malus toringo Scarlet, also known as Pleached Crab Apple, displays dark pink blossoms in the spring and stunning wine-red foliage in the summer.

Like most crab apples, its small red fruits are excellent for pollinating nearby eating and cooking apple varieties.

The leaves have an irregular shape with indented lobes, adding to their unique appeal.

Malus toringo Scarlet thrives in most situations and is a better prospect than flowering cherry if you have heavy clay soil.

It is a great tree for providing vivid contrast within a garden, and its spectacular foliage display never fails to disappoint.

There are a few dark-leaved crab apples on the market, but in our opinion, this is the finest!

Our pleached Crab Apple trees are supplied with 1.8-2m clear stems and frames that are 1m high by 1.2m wide.

If you live in an area prone to rabbits or deer, then we recommend rabbit guards for these trees.
