Kobus Magnolia
Magnolia kobusAbout this product
Originating in Japan, Magnolia Kobus is very hardy and versatile. Unlike the other magnolias we supply, this one only flowers at its full potential after about 15 years, but as we supply them well over five years old, it isn’t too long to wait!
In between time, you will have a decent display rather than a sensational one. The very large, white flowers are produced as early as March and can reach up to 10cm across.
We grow this medium-sized, round-headed tree to full standard and recommend it for planting on verges and in parkland. It can also be a nice addition to a large garden with space to reach its full potential.
Magnolia Kobus does well in most soils, including chalky ones; however, as with many trees, it requires free-draining soils.
This is definitely the best choice for neutral to high pH soils.
Mature height: 7-12m
