Product details

Privet has been a mainstay of British hedging since the early 1900s.

It is tough, evergreen and most importantly is very resilient for growing back after a most severe pruning. It can drop leaves in very harsh winters but generally provides evergreen screening all year round.

White fluffy flowers are produced in late summer and it thrives on most free draining soil types.

Like most evergreen hedging plants Ligustrum ovalifolia is best pruned between March and June as if it is trimmed back in late summer it has no time to furnish itself with a new flush of leaves before winter sets in and this can weaken the plant over its dormant period.

It is one of the easiest hedges to maintain.

Mature height: 3-5m
