Product details

Developed by the National Arboretum in Washington USA for its mildew resistance and fine white floral display, its clonal name honours a North American indigenous tribe. Best in full sun and freely drained moisture retentive soils, this great garden plant rewards with flowers, stem texture and great autumn colour of gold through to red.

As with all Lagerstroemia, its flowering in the UK is hit and miss depending on the intensity of the summer but the genus is so much more that its flower and I grow it for its architectual beauty. The flowers are just an incidental bonus! We grow this as a standard tree rather than a multi stem bush.

Mature height: 5-7m
