Product details

The genus gets its name from the famous Swedish botanist Magnus Von Lagerstroem who was amongst us in the early 1700s. This upright growing multi stemmed tree gets to about 20 foot tall at maturity and is the pink flowerer within our range.

Like all Lagerstroemia in the UK, the flower is dependant on a hot and sustained summer but there is so much more to this genus in terms of stem texture, architectuarl habit and great autumn colour. Best on free draining but moisture retentive soils with a PH under 7.5. Like many trees, early growth can get burnt off by a late frost. This genus is best planted from the Midlands of England southwards in the UK to secure the climate for optimal growing.

Mature height 5-7m
