Chinese Juniper

Juniperus chinensis Stricta, or Chinese Juniper, is a compact evergreen conifer known for its striking blue-green foliage and dense growth habit. Generally reaching a mature height of well under 3 meters, this tree makes it an excellent choice for smaller gardens or landscape designs where space is a consideration.

The needle-like leaves are typically rich green to blue-green, providing year-round interest and a backdrop for seasonal blooms and other plants.

While it usually remains small, its size can vary depending on growing conditions. Its naturally upright growth habit can add height without taking up too much horizontal space.

Although Juniperus chinensis Stricta can be planted in groups for a broader visual impact, it is often best showcased as a standalone specimen. Its distinctive form and colour can make it a striking focal point in garden beds or entryways.

This species is adaptable to various soil types but thrives in well-drained soils.  

Full sun exposure is ideal for maintaining vibrant foliage and overall health.  

Established plants are drought-tolerant, but regular watering may be necessary during extreme heat, especially in the first few years after planting.
