Gleditsia triacanthos Draves Street Keeper

This tidy clone was discovered from a seedling in New York and was released into the commercial market only after about 20 years of monitoring its performance.

It grows about half as wide as it does tall so is ideal for a medium sized garden and its fine foliage turns a vivid yellow in the autumn.

It thrives on most soils, either dry or wet and unlike its parent, Gleditsia triacanthos, it is virtually thornless.

Gleditsia triacanthos Draves Street Keeper has delicate foliage that makes it very pleasing to the eye. However, despite its dainty disposition it is a tough tree and can tolerate urban conditions, including reflected heat and light from buildings and hard surfaces, very well.
