Iskander Beech
Fagus orientalis IskanderOut of stock
Our new stock is growing! New stock will be available 1st September 2025.About this product
This great-looking upright tree looks like a Fagus sylvatica Fastigiata, but it is only when you see them side by side that you notice the difference.
Fagus orientalis Iskander, or Iskander Beech, looks much cleaner and healthier in leaf texture and size as it is resistant to woolly aphid commonly predates on Fagus sylvatica types.
Its ascending branches and lustrous deposition make it a highly merited architectural tree suitable for most medium and large gardens.
Fagus orientalis Iskander thrives on most free-draining soil, and like most beech, its juvenile foliage is retained on the tree as dead leaves in the winter months before being replaced by new growth in the spring.
Why do some trees hold onto their dead leaves?
Mature height: 12-17m.
