Please note that both sizes are currently supplied in 100L containers.
Cornus alba Sibirica, or the Westonbirt Dogwood, has to be routinely butchered every spring so you can be rewarded with a new crop of vivid red stems for the following winter.
If left to their own devices, the stems get woody and lose their vibrant colour low down the plant, showing only red on the tips of the previous season’s growth.
Pruning back to a few inches off ground level in the late spring allows the stem display to be enjoyed all winter.
Cornus alba Siberica makes a fabulous garden plant and thrives on most free-draining soils.
Its lush green leaves and white flowers are nice enough, but the stem colour impresses the most, especially when all else in the garden is dormant in the winter.
Mature height: 1-3m
