About this product

Betula pendula Dalecarlica is an elegant and attractive Birch tree that reaches reasonable heights and has a graceful, weeping appearance at maturity.

The Swedish Birch has dark green, deeply serrated leaves which has earned this tree other references such as Crispa and Laciniata. The peeling white bark becomes more and more prolific as the tree matures. At maturity, this attractive tree has a slender and broadly columnar-shaped crown.

The pendulous weeping branches, decorated with diamond-shaped, sharply toothed light green leaves that turn into a vibrant yellow display in autumn, add to its charm. During spring, the tree comes to life with brown and yellow catkins, bringing a touch of seasonal beauty.

Very good for parks and woodland but not suitable for areas where the soil becomes compacted or where there is too much reflected heat and light.

Betula pendula Dalecarlica, like many Birch trees, thrives in well-drained soil and performs best in areas with dappled shade. It is ideally suited to spacious environments that can accommodate its eventual size.

Mature height: 12-17m
