Aesculus flava, also known as Yellow Buckeye and Sweet Buckeye, is a great-looking Horse Chestnut type that produces candles of yellow flowers in the spring. Its green leaves are finely cut, and it originates from America, having been introduced into the UK in the mid-1700s.
A great choice for parkland, this broad tree can reach more than 20 metres in height. Aesculus flava thrives on any well-drained soil away from the coast and produces a good autumn display of yellow.
