Freeman Maple
Acer x freemanii Autumn FantasyAbout this product
Introduced from the USA by Bill Wandell of Illinois and added to our range in 2010, Acer x freemanii Autumn Fantasy, or Freeman Maple, is a highly prized ornamental tree that truly shines in autumn when its dark green foliage transforms into a striking ruby-red to crimson display.
This fast-growing, broadly oval tree is perfect for parks and extensive gardens. It reaches a mature height of 12-17 metres with a 40-foot spread and thrives in most soil types, performing best in well-drained, average soils, though it may struggle in very arid conditions. The tree tolerates full sun to partial shade.
While the tree's flowers are insignificant, with small red blooms in April, it produces few samaras. Its adaptability to urban environments makes it a versatile option for landscapes and city planting.
Mature height: 12-17m
