The young leaves of Acer pseudoplatanus Brilliantissimum display a delightful shell pink in spring, gradually hardening to a light green by June.
This small beauty is an excellent street tree and is suitable for projects where space is limited. As a cultivar of Sycamore, it tolerates air pollution and thrives in most soils. It is particularly useful for coastal sites, where it can effectively defend against strong winds and salt-laden air.
Acer pseudoplatanus Brilliantissimum was Introduced in the early 1900s and won the Award of Garden Merit in 2002.
This tree is supplied with a full 1.8-2m clear stem and crown on top. It is quite slow-growing and, as such, should be planted with the future in mind.
