About this product

Acer platanoides Mauritz Upright, also known as Norway Maple Mauritz Upright, has been trademarked in Holland and is, as its name suggests, very columnar. New foliage emerges in a brighter yellow tone compared to older leaves, creating a stunning gradient from green to yellow as you look up its slender crown.

The tree features healthy, dark green leaves that are 5–7 lobed with petioles up to 20 cm long. In late summer, it produces winged nut fruits (samaras) measuring 3.5–4 cm, adding seasonal interest.

Soil tolerances are the same as those of its parent species, but this clone is far better suited to restricted urban spaces and small gardens due to its compact shape and manageable size. It also tolerates reasonable wind, making it a hardy choice for various planting conditions.

This spectacular tree shines brilliantly against a darker background, enhancing its surroundings with light and contrast. As with all new clones introduced to the market, its long-term performance through maturity remains to be seen. However, its appealing attributes make it a worthwhile choice to try!

Mature height: 10-15m
