Drummonds Maple
Acer platanoides DrummondiiAbout this product
Acer platanoides Drummondii, also known as Drummonds Maple, is a popular cultivar of the Norway maple with magnificently variegated foliage. Like the species, this Norway maple tree has discrete yellow flowers that appear in spring; however, they are lost a little against the bright creamy-coloured foliage.
The variegation in the foliage of Acer platanoides Drummondii is most vivid in the spring before the sun's rays dilute the contrast in the coloured leaves as the summer progresses. If any green shoots emerge from the tree, it is important to prune them out, as if not removed, they could affect large portions of the tree over time.
Acer platanoides Drummondii does well on most soil types. It tolerates air pollution and resists the perils of drought. This pretty medium to large Drummonds Maple tree has a rounded form, which is a splendid addition to add colour and brightness to a planting scheme. It should be given space to reach its full potential.
Mature height: 12-17m
