About this product

Acer palmatum Osakazuki is a popular cultivar of Japanese Maple which is considered to be the very best of them all for producing a stunning autumn display of red colour.

Like all Japanese Maples, this cultivar has lobed leaves which emerge a vivid green in the spring time and remain this colour until the autumn arrives, bringing a vast array of red, yellow and orange.

This tree will perform at its best in nutritious, moist, well drained, loamy soils and whilst it can be prone to some leaf scorch in extreme summer heat or windy conditions, it is capable of maturing to form a small to medium sized tree of rounded shape.

A sensible choice for introducing higher level autumn colour into a scheme which is perhaps already surrounded by a solid base of other foliage, it would be a useful addition to provide contrast where autumn colours are predominantly yellows and golds.

Mature height: 3-7m
