With the government phasing out the use of all peat-based products, coupled with Barcham Trees’ Environmental Policy which advocates the reduction of our harmful impact on the environment.

Working with nature
We also use several organic plant health stimulants. These assist with nutrient uptake, pest resistance and root growth to help produce a strong and healthy tree stock.

Green Growing Media
All trees grown at Barcham Trees are grown in green growing media. This blend of organic material offers key benefits such as increased microbial activity, stabilized soil pH, increased nutrients and soil available potassium.

ISO 14001
Barcham Trees Plc is certified to the ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management standard. This standard provides a framework to achieve a balance between our economic needs and the environment. With a focus on sustainability, this framework helped us become a peat-free grower effectively.

Plant Healthy
Barcham Trees is also certified to Plant Healthy, and the Woodland Trusts UKISG scheme. Both schemes focus on safeguarding the countryside and our native plants from destructive plant pests and diseases for a sustainable future.

Sustainability
Barcham Trees returns all waste root-balls, along with chipped waste trees to our green-waste supplier. This contributes to the production of our green growing media which is ultimately returned to us for our production needs.
