Product details
Tamarix gallica, commonly referred to as Salt Cedar, is a coastal specialist native to South West Europe. Over time, it has become naturalised along many miles of the English coastline.
Tamarix gallica is a great tree known for its ability to withstand and mitigate the effects of strong winds, making it an excellent choice for coastal and windy environments.
Although typically recognized as a shrub, we cultivate it as a full standard tree with a clear stem measuring 1.8m in height.
Dark brown branches of Salt Cedar support vivid green foliage and pink fluffy flowers in summer that are borne from the new season’s wood.
Particularly valuable for its ability to thrive in saline soils, making it an excellent choice for coastal and other environments with high salt content in the soil.
Mature height: 3-7m
