Product details
Quercus cerris, known as Turkey Oak, has been a regular in the UK since the 1730s.
Fast growing, it thrives on most soils from light to heavy and even does well near the coast, though not as the first line of defence.
Its shiny robust leaves give the tree a vigorous look and its trunk develops into a craggy fissured bark.
Too big for most gardens, it is best planted in parkland where the broad canopy can fulfil its potential.
Quercus cerris has a good autumn show with its leaves turning to yellow before leaf fall.
Mature height: 17-22m
