Please note: Small Taxus are 1-1.5m tall

Naturally occurring and discovered in Ireland in the late 1700s, this wonderful bushy tree has stiff ascending branches that are commonly seen up and down the nation’s churchyards. They can start off very narrow but if left unmolested can broaden and develop quite a middle age spread. Taxus baccata Fastigiata requires a free draining soil and won’t thrive in wet ones. Its dark evergreen foliage is great for a gardeners that don’t want to undertake much maintenance,

Taxus baccata Fastigiata is one of our few native trees that can be easily kept as an evergreen column and this pleasing architectural shape can give a formality to a garden if planted with others in a pattern. It is very well employed within terraced gardens to create a highly stately effect. Mature height: 3-8m
